You can consume vegetables in many different ways: raw, in soup, stir-fried, as a puree... And you can also cook them with various seasonings.

To lose weight effectively during your high-protein diet, we recommend limiting fats as much as possible... We're about to break the hearts of Bretons: butter is forbidden during the strict protein diet. You can have butter again in Stage 3 at breakfast on your whole wheat toast if you can't do without it, but it should be limited as much as possible during the weight loss period.

Especially in Stage 1, you should avoid foods high in fat and sugar. Here are the allowed oils, ranked in order of preference: rapeseed oil, walnut oil, soybean oil, and olive oil. You can use these oils as a dressing (one tablespoon per meal) or for cooking your vegetables or lean meat.

To lose weight, season your dishes with:

  • vinegar
  • lemon juice
  • mustard (strong if possible)
  • herbs
  • freeze-dried powder of garlic, onion, and shallot.
  • fish sauce and soy sauce

For example, you can prepare a dressing with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, mustard... and use it to season your salad or vegetables.

Salt, pepper, and spices are of course allowed.

Avoid sauces full of junk: ketchup, mayonnaise, store-bought dressings…

These sauces are often high in fats and carbohydrates. We also recommend limiting fresh garlic, onions, and shallots as they contain a lot of sugar.

Even after your high-protein diet, we advise you to avoid as much as possible the fats present in industrial sauces. The fatty acids contained in these products are not recommended for your metabolism and often contain many calories.

Cooking vegetables can be tricky during your weight loss diet. Indeed, fats are reduced in order to limit calorie intake... Discover all the ways to cook your vegetables! 

Many vegetables can be eaten raw or in salads, such as cucumber, tomatoes, mushrooms... During your weight loss diet and especially in summer, it can be pleasant to eat your vegetables cold.

You can eat raw vegetables in different ways:

  • "Croq'au sel" style: Cut your vegetables as you wish, sprinkle with salt, and it's ready! Very common for eating cucumber, tomatoes, or even radishes, the "croq'au sel" style of eating is ideal for appetizers during your weight loss diet.
  • In salad: All kinds of salads are allowed: lamb's lettuce, arugula, iceberg, oak leaf... Treat yourself to a good salad! In addition to your green salad, you can add soy, mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes, asparagus... In the end, you'll have a delicious salad to enjoy!

Next, let's focus on cooked vegetables during your weight loss. In winter, you'll probably prefer to eat your vegetables warm and cooked!

You can eat cooked vegetables in different ways:

  • Grilled, braised: Many vegetables can be grilled. For example, you can grill eggplant slices or endives.
  • Steamed: For some vegetables, we prefer to steam them. This is the case with zucchini, artichokes, asparagus, broccoli... Steam is excellent for cooking your vegetables without fat.
  • Stuffed: Have you thought about stuffed tomatoes and zucchini? You can stuff them with many other vegetables (peppers, mushrooms, eggplants...) or stuff them with our protein sachet vegetable stuffing flavor.
  • As soup: These vegetables lend themselves readily to soup recipes. You can thus bring out grandmother's recipes or find new ones: asparagus, cauliflower, celery, pumpkin, leek... You can even think of cold soups like tomato soup or gazpacho.
  • As ratatouille: This delicious French specialty will delight your taste buds... Eggplants, onions, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, olive oil and garlic are the main ingredients of a successful ratatouille! And the good news: you can indulge in ratatouille during your high-protein diet.
  • Pan-fried / wok: Some vegetables are very well suited to wok cooking... This is the case with peppers, green beans, zucchini... Add a tablespoon of olive oil and a little soy sauce: you'll get a delicious weight loss meal.
  • As a puree: Cauliflower puree, pumpkin, zucchini, celery, broccoli... Any excuse is good to cook your vegetables as a puree! For preparation, cook the vegetables in a little water and mash them (pressed with a fork or potato masher).

Cooking your meat during the high-protein diet

From phase 2, the mixed protein diet, you reintroduce dietary proteins during your weight loss meals: meat, dairy products, eggs, fish...

The high-protein diet will teach you to cook while limiting fats. Indeed, there are many ways to cook protein-rich foods:

  • Marinated: ideal for fresh fish, marinades are very simple to prepare. Drizzle your fish or meat with lemon juice, spices, and herbs... You can then enjoy your meat raw or cooked.
  • With salt: sear your meat in a non-stick pan and sprinkle with salt (coarse or fine according to your preference). You can also use a "pierrade" (hot stone grill). This cooking method can be useful for cooking a steak or ham if you want to eat it hot.
  • En papillote: very refined, papillotes are easy to make and require no additional fat. Wrap your meat or fish in aluminum foil with the seasoning of your choice (herbs, spices...). Cook in the oven at 180° or 200°C for about twenty minutes depending on the thickness of the meat or fish (15 minutes for a white fish fillet or salmon, for example).
  • In a wok: cut your meats (chicken for example) and vegetables into small pieces, add a tablespoon of olive oil, and you're ready for a delicious Chinese specialty.

The high-protein diet for weight loss is a protein-based diet using powder sachets.
